Ellen Chitwood:  

I am married to a wonderful man who had 6 children. Between us we have 8 kids, 21 grandkids, 7 great-grandkids. We are family oriented. I have travelled to Canada, Russia and China as well as many vacations throughout the United States. My husband is from Colorado, so we spend a lot of time in the West. I am only missing about 4 states that I've not been through. I'm still striving to see Europe and maybe some of South America. I'd also like to go on a cruise. I never lived in a dorm but I worked hard and put myself through college while raising two kids. I'm proud to say that my kids both went to college also. I worked at AT&T Phone Company and M.J. Grove Lime Company before I settled in to the U.S. Dept. of Energy. I retired from there after 28 years and now absolutely enjoy retirement. The wierdest job I ever had was taking care of a race horse from 4:00 a.m. until after the race in the evening. Very long days, very little pay, and questionable company. Since retirement, I have gotten back into sewing and have learned much about quilting and embroidery techniques. I love making quilts as well as special requests from my family. I also enjoy playing cards, visiting with friends, and having craft days with some of my classmates from good ole MAHS. My favorite teachers were Mrs. Margret Miller and Mrs. Butler.
